At Bats Breath, we use the best bat elixirs and potions to bring you the best product possible.
Use these tips to achieve the best and safest burn for your candles.
TRIM YOUR WICKS TO 1/4 INCH…EVERY TIME
Trimming your wicks to 1/4 inch before each light will provide you a brighter and cleaner burn. We will pre-trim your wick before your candle ships and after that, it’s up to you!
TO PREVENT TUNNELING, BURN YOUR CANDLE ONE HOUR FOR EVERY INCH IN DIAMETER UPON FIRST LIGHTING
If your candle is 3” in diameter, burn for 3 hours or until you have an even pool of wax across the top of your candle. If you don’t melt the entire top layer of wax upon your first burn, the candle will tunnel it’s entire lifespan.
KEEP YOUR CANDLE AWAY FROM DRAFTS
Keeping your candle near open windows, fans, AC units or highly trafficked areas in your home will disturb the flame causing it to create black smoke stains or soot on your candle vessel.
DON’T BURN YOUR CANDLE FOR MORE THAN FOUR HOURS AT A TIME
More than four hours of burn time at once allows carbon to collect on the wick, causing it to become unstable and produce a dangerously large flame. For best results, extinguish at or before the four hour mark and let cool two hours. Trim wicks to 1/4” and relight.
NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED
Keep all open flames way from children, pets and any flammable materials.
SOY WAX IS PRONE TO IMPERFECTIONS (BUT THEY WON’T AFFECT THE WAY YOUR CANDLE BURNS)
Air bubbles, “wet spots” and rough/uneven tops are all common occurrences during the curing process of soy wax. These imperfections are purely cosmetic and they will not affect the scent throw or burn quality of the candle. These imperfections are a testament to our small batch process.
